Silicone Rubber

Silicone Rubber

Silicone rubber is an elastomer (rubber-like material) composed of silicone—itself a polymer—containing silicon together with carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Silicone rubbers are widely used in industry, and there are multiple formulations. Silicone rubbers are often one- or two-part polymers, and may contain fillers to improve properties or reduce cost.

Wide service temperature range : excellent thermal and thermoxidative resistance ranging from -50°C to 350°C (depends in duration of exposure.

Electrical Insulation : has high insulation resistance and the same is stable over a wide range of temperature and frequency spectrum.

Resistance to Oil, Solvents and Chemicals: unaffected by polar organic compounds, dilute acids or basis.

Excellent Mechanical properties: has high tear strength and tensile properties and high elongation.

Flame retardant with additives, with some products receiving UL94 V-0 certification according to the UL94 (USA) standards for flammability classification.

Transparency and Colouring Properties: Because of fine silica and lack of carbon content, it is possible to make highly transparent grades of Silicone Rubber and also easier to mix with colour pigments.
